NLCB Fonclaire Steel Orchestra rekindles the 1988 Road March: This Party Is It

Are you ready for some sweet pan music? If so, you don’t want to miss the performance of the NLCB Fonclaire Steel Orchestra at the Panorama Prelims 2024! Last night, the NLCB Fonclaire Steel Orchestra performed "This Party Is It" as a tribute to Tambu and their Panorama offering for Carnival 2024.

“This Party Is It” was the Road March winner in 1988, and it is considered a classic carnival song. The arrangement of the song was done by Darren Sheppard, a talented musician and composer who has worked with many Steelbands in the past. Sheppard has given the song a fresh and modern twist while keeping the original spirit and energy of Tambu’s masterpiece. The result is a captivating and exhilarating rendition that will surely make you want to dance and sing along.

Those in attendance, many of whom spent nights witnessing the practice sessions, applauded the performance. It is important to note that most of the players in the band are very young. Yes, the instrument is in good hands for years to come. We wish Fonclaire much success.
