Skinny Banton is a Soca singer from Carriacou, Grenada. He was born Shirlan George in Trinidad and Tobago but moved to Carriacou with his family when he was young. He began his musical career in the early 2010s, and quickly became one of the most popular Soca artists in Grenada. He has won numerous awards, including the Carriacou People's Choice Soca Monarch title three times (2011, 2012, and 2013), the Pure Grenada Soca Artist of the Year award in 2016, and the Outstanding in Performing Arts award from the Ministry of Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs in 2016.
Skinny Banton's music is known for its catchy melodies, upbeat rhythms, and humorous lyrics. He often sings about everyday life in Carriacou, and his songs have become popular anthems for the island.
