Hello by Earl Brooks | Steelpan

Calypso, Steelband and Soca are featured here on Soka2Soca regularly. However, so as not to run into trouble with steelpan fans, we don't want to appear as fair-weather fans posting pan-music only when carnivals come calling. For that reason, we decided to post a track with a steelpan as the headliner. Today we present the song "Hello" by Earl Brooks from the album "Something Nice".

In one stroke we dropped the mic! We deliver something nice (literally) while pointing you to Earl Brooks awesome album. The album is available for purchase on Amazon Music in CD or MP3 formats. Hello is a classic song but when done on the steelpan it takes on another dimension when performed on the steelpan, an instrument that adds an authentic Caribbean flavor to the track.

There is something special about the steelpan (the national instrument of Trinidad & Tobago) and it is the sweet sound of the instrument that adds flavor to a song that is considered a classic. The steelpan's bright and lively tones add joyful energy to the song making this version one for your music collection. Earl Brooks is a master of the steelpan, and the fusion of steelpan and traditional instruments lights up the arrangement. We think you will love this track; we are pleased to present it to you today.
