If you were not aware of the date or the significance of the day, we will enlighten you that today was officially Palm Sunday on the Christian calendar. A sacred day for many but when it comes to the "Dotish Hour" on Wack Visual Radio all hell could break loose and today it did, or did it?
This show features Mr. Kenny Phillips and Mr. Desmond Peters and presents a format loved by WACK Visual Radio listeners. As a matter of fact, it is one of the more frequently heard programs on the radio station. Let's get to the point of the post. Somebody called in and requested Chutney music (requests for music genres are usually solicited by the hosts) and today, of all days (remember it is Palm Sunday) they chose to open with Chutney. But this is where silly behavior, started by Kenny, was magnified by Mr. Desmond. Having said that, we have to caution the listener that you should not jump to conclusions because in the World of Calypso there is something called "double entendre" where one thing is said and you can attach the other meaning to what was said or implied; so, don't jump to any unnecessary conclusions OK. Kenny started with the song "The Cat Lick The Butter" and Deso followed up with "Kaki and Kaka". All Hell broke loose and none of the songs received much airplay because they both knew it was all mischief. This was followed by laughter and finger-pointing.
We posted both songs below for you to listen to in their entirety. Tell us what you think about both songs and if we should put Mr. Desmond and Kenny in musical purgatory! Kenny and Deso, I love you both! That Chutney segment (though limited in time) was extremely entertaining and very informative, yes informative because of all the Chutney songs available to play both Kenny and Deso headed down a comedic path. We are KultureKrazy people indeed.
