You have to see it to believe it, you have to hear it to appreciate it and you have to be there to be called a 'Pah-Head'. It is that time of year again and even though the single-pan competition took place in December this is the real start because this is taking place in 2023 and it is about the conventional steel bands. So tune in and enjoy your national instrument in all its glory. This is all about the small conventional bands today. Yet to come... medium and large conventional bands competitions. For those who love carnival and can't wait to get back to the carnival mecca take in the pan and get your carnival party juices percolating. Pan competition ushers in "D'Ting Start" as it is said in local parlance.
This is the semi-final round of competition featuring thirty (30) bands scheduled to perform tonight at Victoria Square in Port of Spain. After the judging takes place tonight, fourteen (14) bands will be selected to perform at the finals scheduled for the 'Big Yard', Queens Park Savannah next Saturday, the 14th. January 2023... enjoy!
