Line up all the female Soca artists and put them against Patrice and they will wither and bow to her talent (except Nadia Batson of course). Having said that, this song, "Mind My Business" has evolved to a slang statement to end conversations in Trinidad and Tobago. Everyone needs to "drink water and mind their damn beeswax"!
The lyrics have led to a slang revolution and the music simply magnifies the experience. Once again, Patrice is leading the pack with excellent music. This production, an interisland collaboration by Travis World (Trinidad) and Martiniquan producer Dan Evens. These two talented producers have given us a wicked riddim, the Happy Pappi Riddim should be on your play-list!
This song is so popular that even Trinidadmadman has done a parody of the song entitled "Drink Puncheon and Talk Yuh Business". On a serious note, somebody needs to wash out Madman's mouth with some old-school blue soap. Now back to the song, let's raise our glasses to the current Queen of Soca, Patrice Roberts... don't be a hater, we call it like it is!
