Doh Waste No Time | General Grant | Trinidad & Tobago 2019

Doh Waste No Time... this is the title of the newly released EDM Soca track from the general, that is, General Grant. This one caught us by surprise... we were not looking for General Grant on an EDM Soca track! First things first, let's get the details out of the way before addressing the song. This song was released on the 'Stress Free Riddim'; it is a production of Wendell "Baysee" Boynes out of the Bounce-Back Muzik Studio, Davie, Florida.

Talk about getting to the heart of the matter, General Grant is not about to waste time going in circles to get in the groove for this relationship. Now we don't recommend this approach in this #MeToo environment. Young men, be careful with your approach... there young, educated and confident women out there who will not tolerate this type of frontal approach!

Trying new things can be a good thing. General Grant has decided that the passage of time does not mean that he has to sit back and watch the show go on. Instead he has moved on and not just on to a traditional Soca beat but an EDM vibe Soca track. We like the music but don't think that you will be feting to this one, instead you will feel better about this song hearing it in a club! The European scene will embrace this vibe for sure but we don't know if Trinidad and Tobago is ready for this... especially in a  Carnival fete!

Regarding the vocals... I was surprised that the General kept up with the speed of this vibe. I guess when you are young at heart and in good condition your talent will embrace and conquer anything. We give the artiste credit for the work done on this riddim.  The song was written by the General and unlike most songs... he tells his story, start to middle to the end. As we mentioned previously, the General's method to get to base may not work for you... be careful what you wish for!

We applaud General Grant for breaking barriers for this sub-genre for Carnival 2019. We are hearing diverse music styles coming out for next year's carnival. We like what we are hearing from General Grant and his production team... well done!
