Tribute to Bertie Marshall | Gary Cordner | Trinidad and Tobago 2017

Trinidad and Tobago lost a pan icon in Bertie Marshall in 2012 but his name and his accomplishments, as an innovator of the steel pan, lives on in the music of Mr. Gary Cordner. Today we present "Tribute To Bertie Marshall', a song written and sung by veteran Calypsonian Mr. Gary Cordner.

The legend of the creator of the "Chinee pan" lives on and we are better as a people today for all of Bertie Marshall's accomplishments. The tribute opens with "Ting Start" and from that point Gary tells his story ensuring that we remember Bertie Marshall.

Keeping the name of our Steelband heroes in the news is always a good idea. Gary has done that in music. Now you can associate Bertie Marshall's name and accomplishments as only the 'voice of the people' can... kudos to Mr. Cordner. The music is sweet and the song inspiring.

Now it is your turn to tell us what you think about this Calypso. Did you enjoy it and did you fantasize about 'chippin' down d'road J'ouvert morning'? Tell us what you think about the song.

Please keep in mind that the success of these songs depends on your support. Let me say it again, now it is up to you to ensure that this song rides the airwaves.
