Still Colonial | Meguella Simon | Trinidad & Tobago Calypso 2017

Colonialism may have left the shores of Trinidad and Tobago decades ago but the stigma of the Colonial days are very much alive in the twin island republic. Today we are pleased to present new talent with an awesome Calypso for Trinidad and Tobago Carnival 2017. The name of the song is "Still Colonial" sung by the very talented Meguella Simon.

Kaiso, Kaiso and we can safely breathe a sigh of relief that Trinidad and Tobago's Calypso is in good hands. 'Still Colonial' was intelligently written by Christophe Grant. The vocal performance exudes confidence with easily understood diction. She will be a judges dream when she steps on the stage to compete. Stage presence can be the downfall of an excellent song... let's hope she can take care of this aspect of her professional growth.

We were pleasantly surprised with this offering from Meguella. We know she will be around in the Calypso arena for a long time! She has the talent and with forward thinking management her name will become a 'household name' in Trinidad and Tobago.
