Plight Of My People | Lady Gypsy | Trinidad & Tobago 2017

This song will cause trouble for the upcoming Calypso Monarch Competition in Trinidad and Tobago 2017. The name of the song is "Plight Of My People" sung by Lynette Steele aka 'Lady Gypsy'.

'Plight Of My People' is creating a stir and it was a featured song this weekend on the 'Nation's Choice for Calypso Music' WACK radio 90.1 FM. Calypso Fiesta at Skinner Park will be fun this year!

We are confident that this song will rise to the top of the Calypso charts. However, Lady Gypsy, historically, does not have good luck with the judges whenever she drops serious 'bois' on the ruling PNM party. Let's see it things change this year.

The advice, picong dished out, does not apply to one political party. It is the same for all parties but Lady Gypsy, a staunch supporter of the PNM, is venting her displeasure as should any good Calypsonian do to keep the ruling party in check.

We like this song just as anyone else; the hard hitting lyrical content, excellent vocal delivery and excellent music accompaniment. Die hard fans of Lady Gypsy and staunch supporters of the ruling party  can't find fault in this composition. We wish her well for the upcoming Calypso Monarch competition.
