Looking Beyond | Duane O'Connor | Trinidad & Tobago 2017

Here comes Duane O'Connor with one that should have people who love Calypso in ecstasy. Why, simply put this song is son nice. The song is entitled "Looking Beyond"; this is a production of the great Pelham Goddard. Duane delivered an excellent vocal performance.

We listened to the song and enjoyed the everything. The vocal delivery, the excitement of the music production and something else that made us pause and take notice. We noticed that much of the music is crossing over especially Soca music. However, this is a Calypso right? Well if you listen carefully you will notice that the rhythm on the drum set is a Soca rhythm but the vocal deliver is all Calypso style. We call this one a "SoCalypso". Hey Soca came out of the bowels of Calypso and we have no problem with  the music on this production.

This is an excellent bridging of the gap and staying true to the art form. If this is the future of Calypso then we say, "hell yes". This is just another concept and one that we love! Kudos to Pelham Goddard and Duane O'Connor. Special credit goes to Mr. Gregory Ballyantyne for the excellent lyrical content.

Please keep in mind that the success of these songs depends on your support. Let me say it again, now it is up to you to ensure that this song rides the airwaves.
