Do you remember when you used to 'play mas with brass'? Well if you forgot that feeling then K.M.P Music studios have a Riddim that will bring back sweet memories of past carnivals. It is time to get back to that good feeling... Brass Vives In Yuh Pwefen!
The Nostalgic Riddim bridges the gap between music generations. This Riddim is a mixture of Soca and Calypso. So there you have it Soca is Calypso and Calypso is Soca. The Nostalgic Riddim brings it all together! The talent is without compromise; we have Chuck Gordon (Monarch), Blaxx (Roy Cape All Stars), Asten Isacc and The Last BadJohn of Calypso, Kurt Allen (Monarch). Kudos to Mr. Kenny Phillips for his advise and inspiration to help bring it all to together.
Music Release Notes:
For those Carnival enthusiasts and bacchanal fanatics, have you ever reflected on what comprised the grand festival generations ago? The elements that retrofitted our beloved parade evolving into what we understand Carnival to be contemporary in nature. For those that do know, take a moment to reminisce on the Golden era that propelled into the greatest show on earth. The likes of David Rudder, Super Blue and Ronnie McIntosh dominating the Soca music fraternity whilst Peter Minshall displayed a flamboyant portfolio of his ingenious Mas creations, inspiring what we see today. Truly unforgettable memories.
Today we would like to recall these memories. Our very own Kyle Phillips accompanied by The KVG and musical stalwarts: Kenny Phillips & Leston Paul have all contributed to resurrecting and disseminating that organic characteristic of Carnival. We introduce to you "The Nostalgia riddim," featuring a unique blend of youthful promise and seasoned flavor.
Roy Cape All stars front-line singer, Blaxx, sets the Nostalgic theme as he ruminates on "The Golden days" of Carnival. Subsequently, Last The Badjohn of Calypso, Kurt Allen, reminds himself of what it feels like to gyrate and dance to sweet Calypso music all night long in his yearning plea- "To Remember"
Kurt then passes the baton to two time Calypso Monarch champion- Chucky Gordon perpetuating that reminiscent mood as he questions- "When Last" have we truly enjoyed music as an antidepressant, relieving all of our greatest stresses.
Finally, the talented and extremely energetic, Asten Issacs closes off the Nostalgic feel with his recommendation that we recall these blissful memories with our loved ones in his musical statement "Meet your family''
The Nostalgia Riddim revitalizes and replenishes the fundamental attributes that compose Carnival as we interpret it presently. With a concoction of fresh and seasoned perspectives, we hope we trigger your senses to take a trip down memory lane.
