Under My Rum | Soca Johnny & Big Bad | Dominica 2016

Here is a song that appeared in my mail box that gets to shine on Zagada. The song comes out of the UK for your listening pleasure. It is a music release for Dominica's carnival 2016. Take a listen and send us some feed back on the vibe. What is your opinion?

Music Release Notes:
UMR (under my rum) Big Bad & Soca Johnny:“Well I drinking till I falling down, and I really doh see nutting wrong” to the untrained ear this sounds like a recipe for chaos...

To a true carnivalist, this sounds like the minimum standards of what can be defined as a good fete/carnival... Under my rum tells the familiar story we have seen many times over. That of your average carnivalist/soca lover who gets caught up in the atmosphere and loses sight of his limits. Just when you know you should stop you “drink another one that is when my head start spinning round”. This is the point at which you can define yourself as being ‘UMR’.

“Wey! If you see di way everybody dere watching me!” you are now at that point, the point where all inhibitions are lost, the point where you really are the life of the party, the true story will come to light the next day via pictures and videos on social media, but for now ‘UMR’

Written by John David UMR reflects the mindset of the thousands of revelers who line the streets in W10 for two days of Carnival. It reflects the feeling you have when all inhibitions are gone and you ‘moving like a mad man inside di party’. The feeling of total freedom, freedom to party, jump, wave and whine, the moment you forget you are in the UK and start feeling like your are in “(insert island name here)” the moment you are truly ‘UMR’.
