This is new music from the artist known as "Luta" for Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Carnival 2014. The song is labeled 'Vincy Soca' but nothing sounds like Soca from this release. This song just does not fit the bill for Carnival and Soca. Luta sings about "Soca music in we brain" but that is the nearest this one comes to Soca! This is Club music, this is a techno vibe that will do well in a club scene. This song will not feel right in a Carnival fete unless the vibe is a club vibe....
You be the judge! Take a listen to the song and let us know if you think this song fits the bill for what we consider Carnival music in the Caribbean. If this is the direction the producers in Saint Vincent intend to travel then Carnival will not be the same in "Vincy" land again! Is it a good song? Yes it is. Do I like it? Yes, I do! Do I think it fits the bill for a good Carnival song? That answer is an emphatic NO!
