Are you into EDM Soca? Well if you are into this new style of Soca music then Sizwe has one that will be of interest to you and those so inclined. The lyrics are surely Carnival vested but the music is more of the dance music style. This is not the Soca music that you are accustomed to hearing (hey the refer to it as Soca so I will run with that for now). Apart from the fact that the lyrical content is what you will hear for a typical Soca/Carnival song I will give this one a pass for now.
Now I have to admit that there is much to like about this song but I am a realist and having said that I must state that this song does not stand a chance of doing anything for Carnival in Trinidad and Tobago. I can expect to hear this one played in a club setting. Until the Trinidadian (back home) begin to fete with EDM Soca as the main element then songs like this one from Sizwe (good song) will not succeed for Carnivals in Trinidad and Tobago (as of the year 2014). Change is on the horizon but now is not that time.
The bottom line... this is a nice Club Carnival vibe and that is where I would expect to hear this one played. If you love the vibe and want to get the song on radio then you need to call in to the radio stations and request the song... it is as simple as that but don't expect a small amount of calls to get it done - call a lot!
