Here is something that you may not be accustomed to hearing especially if you live in Trinidad and Tobago. That is not the case if you come from 'up de islands'! From Grenada, Carriacou, Dominica, Saint Lucia and Saint Vincent this style of Soca is not only familiar but loved because it is so sweet. We need to take a step back and appreciate how sweet this music/riddim sounds.
This style is more on the side of the Dominican music scene. The producer Krishna "Dada" Lawrence is a young Dominican producer who has his musical style brewing with artists across the Caribbean region. 'He produces for Ragga (Trinidad), Daly (Guadeloupe), Alpha(St. Lucia Soca Monarch) and Dominican acts like Rah, Triple Kay and WCK' (Numusiczone) (sic).
This is not Soca music as you know it and the Dominican style is unique in the Caribbean region (bouyon, cadence-lypso and jing ping). Take a listen to the songs on the riddim and enjoy the music. These song may not be heard or played for Trinidad Carnival but they are worthy because of the unique music style.
