In Trinidad and Tobago and also in Grenada we categorize our main Soca sub-genres Power and Groovy. However, in Belize, the winning Soca song is simply termed 'Carnival Song Winner'. That is correct you don't even see the word Soca mentioned however, this winning song is nothing but pure 'Power Soca' and it has what it takes to get you in the mood for Carnival.
This post features the winning song titled appropriately, 'Kick Off The Carnival' and is on the Belizean Artwork Publishing label - the road will be on fire come September when King Carnival reigns supreme in the Belizean Capital.
