This is music from the recently concluded Barbados Crop Over Festival 2013. This song is getting loads of attention across the Caribbean region and will surely be a hit for Labor Day in Brooklyn, NYC. People are loving the song because the music is very catchy but it is the vocals presentation that has everyone hooked. To be honest, I can recognize some of the words sung but I don't have a clue what the story is behind the lyrics because I can't understand what they are saying! I guess when understands that "Porgie 'N Murda" is a Bajan Comedy Television series then the song may have relevance to you and make complete sense (the fun aspect of the song).
Help needed with the lyrics!
Maybe one of my wonderful readers from Barbados can send in the lyrics for posting. One thing I can say is that for what ever reason you like this song it is important that we don't disparage the artists because of their accent or our inability to grasp what they are singing. I see comments on prominent website labeling the song as "a kicks song"; enjoy the music and most of all encourage the artists! However, when it comes to comedy I guess they will take any comment in stride...
