There is a undercurrent of dislike for Trinidad and Tobago talent that permeates the threads on islandmix.com. However, I love what the artists from my homeland are doing. This is the time for the Carnivals 'up d'islands' and Trini artists and producers are putting out music for all of these festivals - indeed, the Trinis are in the mix with some seriously sweet music! This song, featured here is one that was done 'out of season for Trinidad's festival' but in time for the carnivals 'up d'islands' and North America.
This one is sweet but not simply because I like Swappi's style - there is more! I am into this song also because of the man who produced the track! This is a production of LAZAbeam - he is a unique talent who is part of the "Just Now" team that creates some really wicked music. We need more of his musical style because he is awesome of the drums/pure riddims! This one is called 'Drink In My Hand'; the lyrics and chipping style of music should tell the entire story. The music was mastered by 'Mice' and this is a production for Barbados Crop Over Festival 2013.
