It was a case of Déjà vu at D'Savannah (Queens Park Savannah, Port-of-Spain) for the TUCO sponsored 'Humorous Calypso Monarch Competition'. "The Incredible Myron B" (Myron Bruce) won the Humorous Calypso Monarch Competition of Trinidad and Tobago for 2013. The 2012 champion strutted his stuff on stage and repeated as champion for 2013 however, not everyone was happy when the decision was announced. As is customary for these competitions, the results were not met with favor from the very critical audience that attended the show.
To say that there were mixed reactions regarding the first place (The Incredible Myron B) is simply putting it mildly; the truth is, people were really upset! Having said that, one has to understand that Calypso and Soca competitions results are always met with discontent by people 'who had a horse in d'race'. TUCO deserves congratulations for hosting the show that can only be considered a grand success... well done!
