The semi final competition of the 'National Humour Monarch Calypso Competition' recently took place at the S.W.W.T.U Hall located at Wrightson Road, Port-of-Spain. The show was a success with many funny renditions sung to impress the judges on that night. Twenty five singers performed and from the list of contestants emerged eight contestants who will try to dethrone the reigning Humorous Calypso Monarch Myron "Myron B" Bruce.
The following contestants have been chosen to compete for the 2013 Monarch Title scheduled to be held at the Queen's Park Savannah on Saturday 6th. April, 2013.

One other singer was selected from the semi finalists for the finals but will only compete if one of the finalists withdraws or cannot compete in the finals. The reserve contestant selected is Alex Gift better known as "Tobago Chalkie"; the name of his song is 'A Sprangers Story'.
