Another Day Just Gone | Bunji Garlin & Collis Duranty | 2013

Here is a pleasant musical surprise that was penned by  Ian Alvarez, Collis Duranty, Zakri Esau and Jason Farmer. This is a good sign that no one is 'asleep' simply because Trinidad and Tobago's Carnival is over. The vocal collaboration brings together the Black Spaniard better known as Bunji Garlin (Ian Alvarez) and the man who sang 'Red, White and Black', Collis Duranty.  These two guys are fabulous artists and their music speaks volumes of lyrical lessons and musical sweetness.

This song is what Trinidadians like to term, 'conscious lyrics' but I would simply label it 'meaningful lyrical content'. This is not the typical musical release created for feting but one that was written and sung to raise the consciousness of the people and give hope to a large segment of the society. It is a beautiful song!

Take a listen to the song and leave feedback regarding your impressions of the lyrical content, the delivery of the vocals and the general feel of the song. Does it cause you to pause and reflect because you saw yourself painted on this musical tapestry? How did it affect you... I will revisit this post and give my impressions after reading some of the comments.
