"These people are lunatics!" This is new music from Prophet Benjamin and just the way 'Prophet' ended his song I used the statement to start this post! This song takes a look at what is called instruction Soca. Yes people can be easily manipulated by an artist who is famous and is on a stage and instruction them to 'run down so', wave yuh rags and flags, 'hands in the air, 'wine down low' etc. I am sure you get the point.
Prophet sang a song about the things people do in a show/fete without even thinking about it. This takes place in any show where a popular artist is doing his or her thing. The music and vocal performance on this track is good. I like the song especially because it takes a look at an aspect of festival and tells the story in a fun and easily understood fashion.
Pros:
Kudos to Prophet for explaining an aspect of the culture in song that many foreigners may have been wondering about. The vocal performance and music on this track is very good. This is a fun song but one that you can party and have a good time in any situation.
