Painter | Fya Empress | Trinidad & Tobago Carnival 2013

This is an excellent calypso! Listen to St. Vincent born/Tobago resident, Fya Empress, sing this wonderful song that shows her 'coming of age' as a resident of sweet Trinidad and Tobago.

She paints a picture of the history and culture of our nation and does it as someone who loves the country. I have to say that this is my favorite calypso released for Trinidad and Tobago's carnival 2013 to date.  Take a listen and feel the patriotic vibe of this song.

This song has the style and feel of a song that would be played for many years to come. Any song that takes a look at the rich history of the country and especially the culture of the country will continue to live on and become a collectors item. This song makes me feel that it will become that type of song. Having said that, I have to say congratulations to 'Prince Unique' for writing this one - well done!

This song is a warning to the rest of Calypsonians in Trinidad and Tobago. Fya Empress has dropped a special song and the rest of singers will have to come really good to compete with this song that is titled "Painter". Let me repeat myself here - this is an excellent calypso!

Pros:
The lyrical content and vocal delivery of this calypso is excellent. This is what the art of Calypso is all about and should be interesting to see her perform this one for the competitions across Trinidad and Tobago.
