This is another new release that is featured on the islandmix site. I don't know this singer and it may be his very first release for Carnival 2013. Regardless of his status as a singer we have this track to make an assessment of his talents.
The song takes the 'wukking theme (as in wukking and winin') and delivers a very relaxed and pleasant track. This is a good first effort (if this is incorrect, please sent the bio and I will update the posting) and one that would be a good addition to any mp3 player. Having said that, this singer will have to get out there and promote his song/music if he wants to make his mark on this volatile music industry. This upcoming Carnival is already with music offerings from several new artists. Slabo is one of many new singers out there and will have to 'pay his dues' just like all the others.
Lyrics:
This is a Carnival song; it is all about what many guys love to see and be a part of on Carnival day. There is nothing special about these lyrics.
Vocals:
This singer has a very relaxed and safe singing style. This one does not give you an idea of his range. We will have to wait and see if he can do more or stay singing in this safe relaxed style.
Music/Production:
I don't have the information regarding the production of this song. It is clearly Soca and one that should fit in just fine in the groovy category. The producers did a very good job finding the right pace to compliment this singers voice and style.
Replay Worthiness/Lasting Appeal:
He is new on the scene and will have to work hard to get his fair share of airplay. It is a good song but may not be heard on radio much. There are too many songs released daily for this one to get a second chance. If you don't catch the DJ's ear quickly your song will not be heard again or it may simply be mixed in and out of a session. Good luck to Slabo.
Production Notes:
Title: Wuk It
Singer: Slabo
