Whole Day (Puncheon) | Sean & Devon | Trinidad 2013

If you don't feel the rhythm, the groove, the sweetness, the niceness of this track then you don't know anything about sweet carnival music. I know you may be wondering why I am all for a song that celebrates drinking and winin' but when it comes to Carnival music and lyrics this one just fits the bill.

This is all about Carnival is bacchanal, it is all about the rhythm of the riddim mix - just let yourself go and enjoy the music. Close your eyes, if you are in  a cold climate now, and let yourself go. Feel the warmth of the Caribbean sunshine beating down on your back and listen to the pulsating sounds of the engine room as rims create scintillating rhythms for you to groove...

Damn sorry, I got carried away for a moment there. However, I gather you get the feeling that I approve of this one. Devon Matthews and Sean Caruth could stagger and dagger all they want and they could encourage others to stagger and dagger all day and night. The music and lyrics for this song is so infectious... so sweet, I just love it.

Lyrics:
OK, this one will not be quoted anywhere but it is the feeling of many captivated in words and sentences and fused into a musical vibe that will be sung on Carnival day.

Vocal Performance:
Authentic, this is the vibe that you want to hear from artistes who put out material for Caribbean Carnivals. This combination works well... an old feel in a new vibe... I love it!

Music/Production:
This song will give you the vibe and feel of the road in a fete/party scene. The music production is clean, crisp and it stands out from the rest of music that I have heard to date.

Replay Worthiness/lasting appeal:
This is the music of Carnival. This is chipping down the road, feting material. If a DJ is playing in a party or fete with a mixed audience (old and young and in between) then this is the song that will get everyone involved. It will be played throughout the carnival...
