Sweet Soca | Izac | Trinidad Carnival 2013

This song has a real nice vibe but I see this song as one to listen while chilling some place. I get the vibe of liming and sipping a beer and hearing this track in the back ground. I also can see this one being played in a party but not in a feting scene - Carnival time is for more up tempo music.

This song has its place and the vibe is sweet. The one good thing about this song is that it can be played anytime and all year round. This song will resonate well with Trinidadians living abroad who want to hold on to something that reminds them of home. This song may get a few people homesick. I like this song and the music vibe feels just right.

Lyrics:
Excellent lyrics... this one will cause many nationals living abroad to become antsy as Carnival approaches. The lyrics conjure up memories of  a lost love - a love of home, country and sunshine - sweet Trinidad and Tobago!

Vocals:
I am not familiar with this singer but I am sure that more of his music will be featured on this site. I like his singing style and the harmonizing vocals were well received. This is a very relaxed singing style and I enjoyed listening to the singer's voice.

Music/Production:
This was a good music production. Nice sounding bass and rhythm instruments discerned well. Everything has a pleasant feel.

Replay Worthiness/Lasting Appeal:
This song will have lasting appeal. It is one that should be played year after year and will never feel or sound old. "Foreign Nationals" should and will request this song after the Carnival is over.  This one will be listed under songs like "Ole Time Days" and "Sugar Island" because they encourage the listener to think about the source - home is Trinidad & Tobago - this is where every Trini's heart started to beat to the rhythm of the music!
