Section 34 | Weston "Cro Cro" Rawlings | Paranglypso

Calypsonians are the story tellers, the news reporters and the guardians of the public purse when politicians misuse and abuse their authority; today the very feisty Calypsonian "Cro Cro" was on  Wack radio where he released his latest song for the season. Now if you noticed I said season because it is not a traditional Calypso even though it has real Calypso values. The song was done using parang rhythms but was sung using a Cro Cro's unique/signature Calypso style! The name of the song is self explanatory and should put a smile on your face when you read the caption.... "Section 34".

This is the law that was repealed and led to the resignation of ex Minister of Government Herbert Volney. Weston Rawlings whose sobriquet is Cro Cro has a reputation of dealing with issues of the day especially issues that hit at politicians regardless of party affiliation. This one is a stinger!

Cro Cro has now set the standard for 'sharing blows' across music genres. If you think that he was waiting until Carnival to hit the Government on Section 34 then he caught you and everyone else with their pants firmly downed at the ankles. This is 'Parang licks, blows in yuh clothes' and, at the same time, music to groove too... Cro Cro is boss!

The only problem here is that I don't have the song to post for your listening pleasured. It was just released on Wack Radio 901 FM out of San Fernando, Trinidad.

Now we can look forward for the 'blows in yuh clothes' for Carnival 2013. It should be a very interesting Calypso season!
