Pumping | Zoungtang | Trinidad Carnival 2013

This song, the music is so different that I want you, the reader of this blog post, to really listen well and tell me if this style of Soca music will succeed in a Carnival setting. Now I listened for the Soca beat and to be honest it is there! If you listen to the drum pattern you will hear the Soca rhythm. However, the style here is more about the singer and the vocals than the music. The music is so relaxed that it does not even feel like it was done for Carnival 2013 that is, until you listen to the lyrics and understand what he is singing about.

This music has a European feel to it with a Soca drum pattern. What do you think? More importantly do you think that this is the wave of the future... are you ready for this new style of music?
