As you listen to this song you will realize that this is all Soca to the core; and definitely one that should feel good in any fete. Professional or not, for chippin' and/or for winin', this song will feel just right if, and when, you get in the mood to groove. I have said many times that for a song to be successful in this Soca music industry that it must have a hook to capture the listener. This one does - "Gyal Walk and Wine'!
Now before you reflect and say but wait just one minute, this song is all about winin' and elements of Carnival songs previously criticized in this blog. Well that is correct but then again it is not always what is said (well sung), it is more about how the lyrics deal with the subject. This one passes the test, it is not rude or crude - that is good enough for me!
