This is the new Paradise Riddim that features Machel Montano, Kerwin Dubois, Farmer Nappy, Nadia Batson and the Alternative Quartet. I love the use of the Alternative Quartet at the beginning of the riddim - shades of the very successful Antilles Riddim. We were pleasantly surprised with the riddim-mix of the various artists and after listening to this one I was wondering what is the direction of the music. I like the vibe of the music but I am wary of the general public's finicky music mind. Do you think it is way too smooth or does it feel, 'just right'!
I just don't see Trinis and West Indians doing anything with this one on carnival day. However, it should feel good in a fete or while cruising on the highway listening with the music pumped up. This riddim feels very relaxed and so groovy - this one can be called 'Smooth Groovy Soca! I managed to hear the mix this morning from the teaser that was featured on a post on islandmix. Let's wait for the individual tracks to listen to the direction Precision is taking these artists.
