This song is a Carnival jam titled "Carni". When I first listened to the song, the start reminded me of a song done by KES, the Band - now that is good company to be in and to be compared with. Now having said that, this is a rags and flags song that usually doesn't get a pass from me; I do believe that it is time to move away from the rags and flags themed songs!
I listened well and concluded that the song has a very nice feel with just the right vibe. I do like the singing style of this singer. After listening to this track one is left to conclude that this music and singing style is for 'rough riders'! This singer's lyrical style should please the younger generation that now drives this New Age Soca Industry.
The music production was done by DNYC of Val Musik Productions; it is well done and this is one track that should have you dancing your proverbial and literal 'ass' off in any party/fete scene. There is that Techno feel that has been fused with many of the Soca hits today. That vibe makes this one not only a Carnival Party fixture but it will do even better in the Club scene. There is a party crowd that prefers to do the Club circuit rather than the typical fete scene. This song feels just right for the club/house themed party crews. If you don't believe me then ask a friend about what is taking place in Trinidad and Tobago today and then listen to the song again - can you feel it?
