Break Ah Dawn | MANCHILD | Trinidad Carnival 2013

A little bit of this that and more importantly years of musical experience could only mean that Kenny Phillips is producing music that will have everyone (young and old) on the dance floor. The music produced here has a touch of 'discolypso' laced with a wicked/festive Soca Rhythm set at a nice pace that would satisfy the youth and still bring out the more experienced and mature crowd to move and groove - that is music that can be termed a generational music bridge!

I could not help but play this one over and over again; it is six minutes long! The music production will have people shaking every inch of their body. This is how it used to be and today we have a rebirth of the glory days with "Manchild" steering this harmonious melody to dance heaven.

This is  a song that can be played all year round not just for Carnival. Now you know what it means to make good music. When a song can be played in season and out of season and capture the audience then you have a musical gem that will command replay worthiness and have lasting appeal. 'Manchild' adds the Old and New feel with his singing style and I can see this singer doing well as a true Calypsonian. He has passed the test and has excelled with his vocal performance to excite and invite people to the dance floor. I expect to be hearing more music coming from this very talented Trinidadian artiste. Now let's give our take on the song... Be prepared to dance your ass off because this song will surely make you want to dance. This is not a three minute music production; you get your money's worth with six minutes of vocal & musical satisfaction!

Lyrics:
Just about everyone listening to the lyrical content of this song will have something to remember about a fete they attended until the Break Ah Dawn. If you are one of those who like to 'play yuhself till early morn' then the lyrics of this one will resonate with you. This lyrical content is all about feeling good and having fun. The singer tells his story in song and it is a tribute to the happy feeling that the weekend invites us to experience staring with  a sweet Friday evening lime after working all week - fete till the 'Break Ah Dawn'!

Vocal Performance:
Good lyrics mean nothing if the artiste cannot deliver with his or her vocal performance. This singer brings a sweet Calypso style to a sweet Soca rhythm. "Manchild" delivers with his vocal performance. This song, especially the vocal performance, has an inviting feeling that make one comfortable with the music delivery. Comfortable, Relaxing, Groovy and Sweet!

Music/Production:
KMP Music Labs to the rescue. Don't get carried away by the new music releases coming from the new generation of producers. This song will be played after Carnival 2013 is finished. Can you say the same will be the case for the new generation of music releases?

Replay Worthiness/Lasting Appeal:
Without a doubt this one will be played over and over again. One thing that you should take note of is that the youth are part time music lovers. The mature listeners know good music and will keep this song alive. Remember I said it!
