"Calypso Music" | David Michael Rudder

The entire Caribbean region has been drawn to the rhythms of sweet Soca music... a music that was born in Trinidad and Tobago. The music called Soca was created by Garfield Blackman aka Lord Shorty aka Ras Shorty I. He developed Soca because Calypso was on the decline and the young people were more into Reggae, Dancehall and American R&B Music. However, there is a resurgence of Calypso music with 2012 giving rise to some really good music especially for the steel pan competition better known as Panorama in Trinidad and Tobago. We must not forget that there was a time when Calypso music was king and one King David Rudder was the man who had people chipping to music with a joy that we now reminisce about in today's post. This is Calypso music - Enjoy this classic!

The song Calypso music is a classic and David Rudder reminds us that regardless of how much you may love Soca music that the well from which it all came from is Calypso music. Listen to this classic song and enjoy the moment... reminisce in wondermazement!
