This song has been getting good reviews on islandmix and rightfully so. It has a nice bounce to it and the beautiful Miss Paige appears to have left her heart and soul in Vincy. Her rendition is clean and the music is tight.
This song, however, is labeled Dancehall/Ragga Soca which, to me, is very misleading for one simple reason... I don't hear any dancehall or Ragga elements in the song. As a matter of fact I will venture to say that this nothing but a promotional gimmick because all slow soca or as we like to call it in Trinidad, Groovy Soca is labeled Ragga Soca in Vincy land.
That does not change the price of coffee... the song is a good one and should get some serious rotation on Vincy Radio. If you are from St. Vincent and came to this blog.... don't get upset it is just that the music called Ragga Soca today in St. Vincent is what we call Groovy Soca. If I sensed any Ragga in the music I would not have hesitated to call it a real Ragga Soca song.
