"I'm In Love" (Shibuya Riddim) | Lukie D

"Wining on me and you... Bodies in motion"... Does that mean that this is a Soca track? Well No! However, for marketing purposes this is considered a Soca Track but to be honest it leans more on the dance side of the equation.

The theme is that of the Carnival wining with bodies in motion but this one has more of a techno/dance with an island voice... more in the vein of Island Pop! I said Island Pop but the cross over of rhythms is a bit muddled and this one has been nestled in the Soca/Dance grouping.

Take note that this was produced by 'Hemo out of Japan' with Precision Productions. A slamming West Indian base Rhythm with a European techno slant and you have the recipe for an international hit but one that has been 'Shibuya Riddim' to keep it relevant to the Caribbean and Carnival theme.

So what do you think? Is this the right time and place for this 'new music'? The winds of musical change have arrived... be prepared for a bumpy ride with the purists pointing their fingers at the young producers and the young producers trying to break through to the international market. The next few months will be very interesting... I can't wait to see where we would be next Carnival.

Production Notes:
This is an interesting one in that we have a Jamaican singer with a Japanese producer accompanied by the Trinidadian team at Precision Productions. The name of the singer is Lukie D; this one was produced out of Japan by HEMO and is called the Shibuya Riddim; it was co-produced by Precision Productions out of Palmiste, Trinidad.
