Today I am featuring two songs from the artiste Tele Cruz. The first song is titled "Sweat"; this is the one he is pushing for Carnival 2012. The second song is a collaboration with Umi Marcano titled "Sail Away".
Both songs are are good but "Sail Away" really hit the sweet spot with me! The first song will get some rotation but I suspect that Sail Away will become a favorite for many.
The notes that accompanied the music blast from Jam2Vibes (Music Promo Kit) indicated that the video was shot in Tobago at the Spence mansion Villa, Cruz Cocktail Bar and Bistro and Back Bay Beach with several models and dancers from the Caribbean region, Europe and the United States of America.
Now when you listen to the song "Sweat" it has a nice flow to it. The lyrics are stuck in the wining and bumpa theme and could have been so much better if a little thought went into the lyrical content of the song. I understand the concept of sweat but the wining and bumpa theme is becoming very tiresome.

This is where I said, hell no! Something is not right with the video. The models (a few nice female bodies) don't really seem to be moving right to the music. The males in the video appear stiff and can't move to the beat of the music (like they can't wine and look like foreigners trying to dance to the music). Something is just not right with the dancers in the video. Even Tele Cruz looks like a strange fit in that scenario.
The second Song now... I like to listen to Umi and this combination of voices for the song "Sail Away" works well. The song has a nice smooth feel to it. Umi's voice rides the rhythm well. Tele Cruz sounds good on the track... I like this song 'Sail Away'. Yes, there is something to this magical cruise. The vocals are clear and the music has a sweet flow to it. This song should get some airplay during the night when you simply want to relax and get your groove on... nice, I really like this song... Well done!
