I originally posted that I did not get this song after listening to it at work and doing the post while thieving a listen. That was very unfair and after coming home I decided to listen to the track once again. I did this after listening to Destra's new release "Link Up". I have come to the conclusion that I was totally wrong about my original thoughts regarding the song.
Patrice's voice is clear and her vocals are very constant from beginning to end. I still don't like the pace of the song but I am absolutely certain that the young people listening and jamming to this track on carnival day will not be complaining. One of my friends after listening to the beginning immediately responded, "I like it!" I realized I had to redo my post.
I still hold to the fact that this song will not get much rotation on the radio. That is not because it is not good but because the Island Pop tracks will be pushed ahead of the Power Soca music.
So I will take a bow and say that Patrice really "get on bad on this track". Now that does not mean that I see this song mashing up fetes anytime soon. I guess it will sound very good when she is on stage doing her thing with HD. I guess won't hurt and will add to the hype.
