This Riddim list came via a Julian email blast today. There has been much anticipation for this release after the teaser was sent out last week. Now you can listen to all of the songs and decide if they are worthy of a 'wine or two' or just good for the party scene.
It seems like the new music are geared towards the club scene (we have a revival or sorts and that is a good thing) but the emphasis here and now is on Carnival 2012. The teamwork of the young guns at Precision have produced some musical mahem with this collection of songs
The tracks on this Riddim have been released to mash up the Carnival scene. If they have any success it will all be because you approve of the production.
Gosh now I will say this about the Riddim... there are two songs on this Riddim that sound like Carnival music (in my humble opinion). I like Attitude by Destra Garcia and Pressure Waist by Tian Winter and to a lesser extent the Patrice song with Swappi aka Gih Meh. The rest of the songs have a dancehall flavor that comes via the manner in which the singers vocalize on the tracks.
The variety of artistes on this Riddim provide enough adrenalin to keep you moving and grooving at a very energetic pace. Bunji Garlin wrote the lyrics for his offering, "Bam Bam" with background vocals by Tricia Hamilton. The song takes a page from sister Nancy's song Bam Bam. Here is the YouTube link:
Sister Nancy Bam Bam.
Go Down was written by Orlando Octave and Kerry John;
Attitude was written by Jason "Shaft" Bishop & Destra Garcia;
Work was written by Sean Padmore & Clayton Wong;
Pressure Waist (Tian Winter's song) was written by Nadia Batson;
Gih Meh was written by Marvin Davis, Patrice Roberts and finally
Free Up by M1 was written by Sherwin Jeremiah.
