"On The Avenue" | Machel Montano

I was on islandmix and noticed the posting for this new Machel Montano song. As I read the thread I realized that Machel must be the most hated singer in the Caribbean region. It does not matter what he releases because the postings on imix are almost always negative. Then again most of the negative posting about this artiste are from the islands far removed from Trinidad and Tobago. The question is this... are they justified or simply jealous and will say anything to disparage his name?

I love to listen to Machel Montano however, I don't like all his music but that is the same for any music that I listen too. I don't think that anyone reading this would disagree that they liked every song released by any particular artiste. Now we can move on.

Regarding this song... I don't have much to say. Well, here is the thing, I like the message in the lyrics but then again the music for this track is paltry. All I take away from the music is a drum ringing in my ears. The music lacks body. This is like a ordering a chicken roti and getting curried potato wrapped in the roti - no chicken! However, I do like the lyrics and the concept of the song.

Here are some production notes:
This one was produced By London Future & Jason 'Shaft' Bishop. It was mixed By Kasey Phillps for Precision Productions. The song was Mastered By Mice; and the lyrics were written by Jason 'Shaft' Bishop & Machel Montano.

Please be advised that the music is presented here for your listening pleasure and for promotional purposes only ("Fair Use" Musical Content Copyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976). Lend me your ears... Enjoy!

Well...it seems he isn't really a likable guy. *shrug* Look at it this way...almost every artist in the business (more specifically, the big guns) seem to have a problem with him. That dislike has trickled down to some fans...some hate him with a passion, some love him and some, like myself, are just indifferent...we just want good music. It's interesting that he hasn't released any tunes produced by Kernal Roberts, thus far...is it too presumptuous to say that trouble is probably brewing in that camp? Knowing Machel's rep...maybe not.

Love your blog...good work
