"Hailing from south Trinidad, Natasha "Tasha" Barrow is no stranger to music, being the daughter of the former President of TUCO South Central and calypso singer Carey "Kinte" Stephens. Tasha began singing in church at the tender age of 4. She started entering calypso competitions in school and around south Trinidad when she was eight years old, winning 3 titles.
In 1999, Tasha migrated to the United States to further her studies. She was introduced to a locally based band "Request" in 2005 and became one of their front line singers. After a short time with Request Band, she went on to form the band that she's now the lead vocalist for - "Vybz Evolution Band".
With Vybz Evolution, Tasha has graced many stages. She has performed at numerous carnivals throughout the United States, in cities such as New York, Philadelphia, Miami, Virginia, Detroit, Atlanta and Washington DC. In 2011, Tasha also performed alongside the Royalty Band in Dominica for their carnival season, making appearances at Dominica's Soca Monarch, Wet Fete and also performing on the road carnival Monday. Not only a singer/performer, Tasha is also an up and coming songwriter.
She began composing and arranging her own music in 2006. With her contribution-"Roll", on the Veterans Riddim produced by Penn and Ace out of 758 Studios in St. Lucia being her first song to be played on the airwaves in Trinidad and Tobago, Europe and throughout the Caribbean. Since then she has penned numerous songs that have hit the airwaves throughout the US, Canada, Europe and the Caribbean, including "Your Body's Calling Me", "Plenty Rum" and "You that I Want". She also penned her first power soca for Trinidad and Tobago carnival 2k12 entitled " Hit di Stage". Be on the look out for this new voice in soca music. Tasha is determined to make her mark in an industry she holds dear to her heart."
