Doh Mix Meh Up was the modus operandi with Deso (as he is fondly known); it took several emails and 'ole talk' (on my part) to get a copy of this song to post on this blog. Well, today it was not 'salt' from the man as he came up big and sent the song. We present it proudly here on Trinizagada|Santiwah for your listening pleasure.
Thus far we have two new songs from the Shadow for the upcoming 2012 Carnival, "Doh Mix Meh Up" and "Naked Riddim"... Of the two releases I prefer "Naked Riddim". Of course you will have your preference. I am featuring "Doh Mix Meh Up" here today but will include "Naked Riddim" for comparison.
Please let me know what you think about both tracks and if you agree with me that "Naked Riddim" is the stronger of both offerings. Of course, there are some people who think that the Shadow has strayed from his base, but I like to think of "Shadow" as the James Brown of Calypso. His music, the lyrics and the rhythms are unique from everyone else in the industry throughout the region.
I love his music and will never consider any release unworthy - just different enough to suit the changing trends in the music that are considered acceptable by the majority of the populace today.
