This is a promotion of Wack Radio (www.wackradio901fm.com) out of San Fernando, Trinidad. Wack not only boasts of being the one and only true to the art 24/7 total local purveyor of local content but the leader of the carnival extravaganza with the launch of Soca 48 on De Road!
This evening I was listening to the program and the audio that came from the outside source had a feel to it that made me feel like I was actually on site. I am not talking about the music played or the DJ commenting over the microphone but it was about the audio quality. I don't know if this was a programming glitch or if it was done on purpose but the audio was not the same as the studio quality sound. This audio had a live feel with a hollow sound to it that gave one the feel of 'being there'!
Song after song, jam after jam and the madness came to me all the way from southern Trinidad to the Big Apple in Washington Heights... I loved every minute of it. It was co-produced by Undercover and Wack and it came across with the feel of a carnival Friday. It was a lime on the corner but all the way in Cocoyea. I was listening to Machel Montano singing as if he was on the Avenue ... Jus so!
Next to my Notepad page was the Wack Shoutbox where the Maccos were taking in the jam session. It was billed as "Undercover band launch" as part of the Soca 48 Road show.
