I recently posted a song by KES and was not entralled by the music or lyrics however this release titled "Worldz Girlz" really got me in the groove - I like this one and highly recommend it!
I guess I was asleep at the wheels and missed the release of this song. Well I have it and will give you my take on it here. So let's go ahead and 'Tawk D Tawk' as we usually don on Trinizagada|Santiwah.
Lyrics - This song talks about what went down in a party. The lyrics are skillfully brought out by Kes Dieffentaller who dis a nice job telling the story in song.
Vocal Performance - Clean and clear and every word is easily understood. The singer's comfort level comes across forcefully and it sounds like they had a lot of fun putting down this tract. This was not work - this was pure fun and that makes for a good vocal performance.
Musicality - This is not Soca! This is new style music.This is Grey Goose music... ahem, I meant Wordz Girlz music. I know they are singing and throwing around the word Soca but this is not Soca but it is musically sound and well done. Come on the beat is sweet and you will complain but dance and groove to the beat!
Originality - This is the Sound of KES the Band. Do you know of any other band on the island sounding like KES? Oh, I see... so there are others making Island Pop music but they cannot sound like KES... need I say more?
