"Sweet Dulahin" | Rikki Jai Featuring Liquid Lee

Rikki Jai won the 2011 Chutney Soca Monarch and will forever be known as the first person to win the $2 million grand prize for this competition. He look like he intends to vigorously defend his title and reach out again for the needed support to win the undisputed crown once again. This one feels just right (I really like the guitar works at the beginning of the song) - the rhythm, everything just feels right - Chutney, Soca and even a little taste of Dancehall!

Carnival 2012 will be significant because the competition now moves from Skinner Park in the South to the mecca of carnival - "The Big Yard" in Queen's Park Savannah, Port-of-Spain. There are also new rules in place that will monitor lyrical content and melody (it must now be original and have nothing to do with Bollywood). This is all good and with this the competition will now have significance as the Northers will now get the opportunity to join the Southerners and support the growth of this fast growing music genre.

Rikki's new song is titled "Sweet Dulahin" and features Liquid Led on the track. This one was done at 'The Mahastudios' out of Trinidad. Rikki Jai is a very experienced performer and it is expected that he will do well once again. The song still talks about limining and drinking but is more focused on 'Sweet Dulahin'. This is one to pay attention too... I like the fact that I can hear the Soca rhythm distinctly in this one - good job Rikki and Maha Studios.
