I am trying to give everyone and every song a hearing on this blog. This song featured here is no different and, at the same time, different in many respects. It is no different in that it gets a shot as a featured post here and it is different in that it has taken the dance path to slant the Soca rhythm.
From the onset Sokah (went on to be called Soca) was created as a blend of African and East Indian rhythms. The East Indian aspect was removed and American Soul music was infused into the rhythmic structure starting a change in the music genre. As time went on we got Power and Groovy Soca music then Dancehall Riddims.
As the new music is released for Carnival 2012 the Riddims have taken hold of the music genre. Now we have Choc'late with a dance version of the Soca beat that is meant for... you guessed it, the 'Dance Clubs'. It has a techno/Europe feel to it and continues on the dance theme rather on the carnival music theme. Maybe this one will get airplay on the radio in Trinidad or maybe it won't but you can listen to it here on Trinizagada!

This one was written by Choc'late the singer and produced by Northfire Recording Studio in Massachutts. Have you wondered who is Choc'late? Well you may be surprised to learn that her real name is Choc'late Allen and that her dad is ... Kurt Allen!
