Firrreeeeee! This baby is hot and so is Destra Garcia's new release for 2012 - 'Breaking Away'. This song and delivery of the vocals is hot, hot and yes hot!

This is not Soca in the traditional sense - I guess all new music released by 'Soca Artistes' today is called Soca. This track has a Euro Pop sound/feel to it but her voice makes it a Carnival jam - I like it!
The music should do well in the North American market. The only similarity I can find that this 'Pop' sound has in common with Soca is the speed of the music and of course Destra's Carnival voice - it has real Trini Power Soca speed to it.

Anointed the "Queen of Soca" by her adoring fans, this Soca diva 'wukked up' this one; it has been dubbed the  'Breaking -In-Trance Riddim'. The Soca Diva's powerful vocals that have propelled her to the top of her 'singing game'; she should ride the Soca wave of success with this one. However, the finicky radio stations will have the final say regarding market exposure especially in Trinidad and Tobago. Miss Garcia has released seven albums to date and continues to produce music worth listening.
