TELL ME WHY | Raynier feat. Vir-Go | Trinidad 2013

Trinidad and Tobago is on a Groovy Soca crusade! It looks like we are going to be on the Groovy side of the Soca Genre for 2013 just as we had it for Carnival 2012.
Most of the music that has been released to date have been on the Groovy Side. I am not complaining because the Groovy side of Soca will live on after the carnival is over.
This song features Raynier on lead vocals but he is not the only singer on the track! I am not familiar with this artist and will try and get some information to feature on the site.

The song also features the voices of Kit & Vir-Go. Look up the singers/artistes and leave some feed back on the post via the comment feature (we will appreciate the feed back).

The song has a nice feel and is very laid back... Groovy Soca right! The vocals on the track are good and compliment the laid back vibe of the music production. Somehow it feels a bit too laid back and lacks something (I can't put my finger on it but then again this style will add longevity to the music). However, having said that, I still have to say that I like the track. This one will need a push to get the airplay it deserves on the radio stations. The lyrics are good... I like this production, I like the lyrics and the vocals!

Lyrics:
This is a love story in song. However, Raynier should have made his point early... damn man, you took too long and asked her to tell you why too much. I am just kidding but he eventually told his story and with Vir-Go responding appropriately. This could be you and you may be saying damn... that's just how I feel!

Vocal Performance:
If you love to make love (and who doesn't) and you are a person with the Caribbean in your blood then this one can set the mood. This is a sweet and smooth Groovy Soca Song. The diction is clean and clear and easy on the soul. As I speak about soul, and if you listen well, you will come to understand the  term "Soca healing". The Singers compliment each other well and Vir-Go add a sultry sex appeal to this one. Compliments to the singers!

Musicality/Production:
The music is just the right pace and adds credibility to the work done by the producers. Not all Soca music labeled as "Groovy" lives up the the genre's standard - this one does. If you think otherwise then you need to go and see an otolaryngologist (LoL, you can figure that one out of course).

Replay Worthiness/Lasting Appeal:
Replay worthiness... this all depends on the promotion done to foster good relationships with radio jocks. I like the song but to get it on rotation on radio stations takes a lot of work. This is where sites like islandmix and Julian Promotions help to get the music heard. I am sure this song will get its fair share of airplay but the promoters of these artists have to do some 'leg work' to get it heard. Don't think because a song is sweet that success is certain - that is wishful thinking. Known artists get played regardless of the quality of the song. This song is deserving and should have lasting appeal. The beauty of this song is that it can transcend the carnival season and be played all year!
