It is unfortunate that Carriacou and Petite Martinique Carnivals coincided with Trinidad and Tobago's Carnival. So much coverage was given to Trinidad and Tobago's festival that the results of the festival in Carriacou quietly went by unnoticed by many of us whom were so preoccupied with Trinidad and Tobago's festival. I am late with the Soca results but it is better late than never! 

I am curious about the system of judging used for the competitions. If you notice the highest points attained for the Groovy competition was only 155  Points but the regular Soca category first place winner attained 235 points. Another interesting thing I noticed was that the same song was sung for both competitions by Super D - Fetaholic! I am curious about the disparity in the points awarded for the two competitions because the tenth place contestant in the (Power) Soca competition scored 191 Points compared to the first place winner of the Groovy Soca Competition who won with 155 Points. 

The lists below provide the top ten places for the Groovy and (Power) Soca Monarch competition with the singers Sobriquet and songs sang. It should also be noted that Skinny Banton won the Road Competition as well as the People's Choice competition. Congratulations are extended to everyone who participated in these competitions.
