Leggins | Fadda Moses & Collegeboy Jesse | Trinidad 2013

Dancehall Soca... that is my first impression when I heard this song. The very beginning made me smile because the voice sounded so silly and led me to think that this was going to be one to make me smile.

'Walk and wind in yuh leggings' comes naturally for the young ladies in Trinidad especially when they are in the mood to tease.

The song has been released for Carnival 2013 but this song does not make me feel like it is Carnival time. The song may have its time and place and it will have some of the youth grooving to it but to be honest this is not Carnival music. This is music that should have a place in house parties but sure not something to 'tun up' a crowd in a fete!

Well I guess you get the feeling that I may not have a favorable response for this song however, and surprisingly, that is not the fact. I like the song but I simply don't get the 'Carnival Feeling' that is so desirable from this song.

Pros:
It is a fun song and has a nice riddim, a nice groove that should fit in well in house parties and even in the club scene. Yes, the music is sweet; yes, the lyrics are fun lyrics and the music production is good, but...

Cons:
This is not Carnival music; it does not feel like Carnival music and as I mentioned before it will not mash up any fete.

The Bottom Line:
A good song that should do well in house parties and maybe in the clubs but I really don't feel like it is Carnival when I hear this song. It has a vibe but simply not a Carnival vibe.
